This position will be responsible for the strategy, development, and execution of field sales training within the Hepatitis-B vaccine business to advance field force effectiveness. This position will partner closely with the field leadership and other cross-functional partners (i.e., marketing, market access, medical, and more) to bridge brand strategy and effective field team development and execution to meet the needs of an evolving business.

Responsibilities

    • Lead the Training & Development function responsible for developing and delivering strategic learning programs to field teams including product training and advanced learning
    • Partner with marketing and sales leadership responsible for sales competency advancement, and field leadership development programs to ensure those initiatives are rolled out effectively and incorporated into standard product training
    • Assess field training needs and oversee the design, delivery and measurement of effective training solutions that build the capabilities necessary to drive successful execution of the Hepatitis B market.
    • Establishes the Training & Development vision and strategy in alignment with business objectives to guide training initiatives that translate brand strategy into actionable behavior by the field teams
    • Aligns with Marketing and Field leadership on training outcomes
    • Ensures monitoring and measurement of participant outcomes and leverages learnings to enhance training and development programs
    • Proactively assess competence gaps and engages leadership teams with recommendations for skill enhancement
    • Builds strong partnerships, champions effective ways of working across stakeholder groups and advises on appropriate training methods to reach desired outcomes
    • Understands the culture and values of the organization and champions a culture of compliance
    • Responsible for preparing budgets and effectively managing resources and as a responsible steward of organizational resources
    • Supports the organization in maintaining a work environment focused on quality and that fosters learning, respect, open communication, collaboration, integration, and teamwork.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

    • 7+ years of combined Pharmaceutical and/or Bio-pharmaceutical marketing or sales experience. Prior field sales management experience preferred.
    • 2+ years in pharmaceuticals and/or Bio-pharmaceuticals sales training required
    • Demonstrated experience in leading training through changing business needs preferred
    • Proven experience in demonstrating strong collaboration with Sales and Marketing leaders to design support curriculums to meet business needs.
    • Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration and communication (verbal/written) skills; including presentation skills and audience awareness for effective presentation delivery.
    • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
    • Ability to sit; stand; walk; reach with arms and hands; lift and move small objects; and use hands to keyboard and perform other office related tasks including repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
    • Occasional travel required, as needed.
    • Full COVID-19 vaccination is required for this position.

Pay Range

    • The estimated salary range for this position is $157,000 to $192,000. Final pay determinations may depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, geographical location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards and participation in our in the Company’s discretionary annual bonus program. Dynavax also offers a full range of health and welfare insurance benefits, 401(k) company match, and paid time off benefits, including 17 paid holidays in 2023.
